Congress had won 651 Zilla Parishad seats in 2000
now it has been reduced to 486. In Taluka Panchayat
Elections Congress tally has came down from 2097
in 2000 to 1710 in 2005.

BJP has improved its performance compared to
2000. In Zilla Parishad Elections BJP’s tally
has gone up from mere 41 in 2000 to 152 in 2005
(more than 3 times ). In Panchayat Samiti Elections
BJP’s position has improved from 237 in 2000
to 540 in 2005 (more than double).
